Restoration Process
We are well aware that these recent family finds are very precious and for some the very thought of sending your images through our postal system can be a little bit daunting.
You do not have to send any images to us if you do not wish to. Simply scanning your images to us will allow us to to work on your image. There are of course some settings that need to be in place for us to get the highest quality image for us to work with,
Most older photographs are less than 4" x 6 ", our current holiday snap size. Scanning at the highest resolution will mean that your scanned image will have the highgest amount of detail for us to work with.
Scan your photograph at 600dpi. Save your image as a 100% JPEG - if you are emailing it to us.
Scan your photograph at least 600% - 1000%. Save your image as a TIFF if you are sending on a memory stick or cd via the post. Your cd / memory stick will be sent back to you with your finished images.
The age of digital photography has been with us for a few years now and during the past 2yrs or so the cost of owning a digital camera has come within everyones reach. Some mobile phones also sport a higher camera setting than some cameras. With the likes of online web galleries, emailing, digital photo frames the actual ownership of family photographs is going to become a thing of the past and as a result we need to preserve our existing photographs.
Family ancestry is becoming more and more popular and as a result of this more people are finding a wealth of old photographs. Some of the old images will have over time faded, through handling they may have become creased and in certain cases torn, folded or even have parts missing.
Whilst finding these old photographs is a wonderful and interesting thing, having only one damaged copy is dissapointing as more often than not all surviving relatives would like a copy of these images. Getting them restored is often the best way of preserving the original image (as it can be put away safe) but during the restoration period several duplicate copies can be made to hand round the family.

Digitally Enhanced Photography
As well as restoring photographs we can also
digitally enhance your existing photographs, maybe
you have a really nice family photograph and would
like to have it in black and white, maybe you have
something in the background that you would like
removing or blurring out - maybe some guests or
passers by that just spoil what would be a perfect
photo.
Below are some examples of images that we have
re-edited - clearly showing you how you can give
your existing images a whole new feel - images that
will look great in a frame, as opposed to couped up
in a photo album.
